How submitting works in a contest
Updated Oct 23, 2026
- Open a problem from the contest page and read the statement.
- Write your code in the editor. Wrote it in your own IDE? Press Upload file, choose the language and then the file, read it in the window and press Put in editor. Some contests turn uploading off.
- Press Run samples to check your output against the statement's samples, or open Custom input to run your own input. Neither is counted, and neither costs a penalty.
- Press Submit. One box per test fills in as the verdict arrives.
Good to know
- A contest shows how many tests passed, never which ones.
- A compilation error is not counted and costs no penalty. The line turns red in the editor with the compiler's message beside it.
- Every attempt is kept under My submissions.
- Ctrl + Enter submits from the editor, and Ctrl + ' runs your custom input.
- A question about a problem during the round goes in Clarifications. The setters answer you alone, or everybody.
Every contest problem page also has a short guide, How to submit in this contest, which you can open again at any time from the bar.
