Taking a quiz or exam: before you start, and if you get disconnected
Updated Oct 23, 2026
Before you press Start
- Read the rules on the start screen. They say how long you have, how many attempts you get and what the exam records.
- The timer starts the moment you press Start Quiz.
- Some quizzes need a password from your teacher.
- Use a laptop or desktop with a steady connection if you can, and close other tabs, especially for a secure exam.
While you answer
- Your answers are saved as you go. The status near the top says Saved, Saving or Failed, retrying.
- You can flag a question to come back to, and see answered and unanswered questions in the question navigator.
- When time runs out, the quiz is submitted by itself with the answers saved before then.
- After you submit, you cannot change your answers.
If the page closes or the connection drops
Open the quiz again from the same account and press Resume Attempt. You come back to where you were, with your saved answers. Reloading the page is not counted as leaving the exam.
The timer is kept on Progsity's side, so it keeps running while you are away. Come back as soon as you can.
A technical problem stopped your attempt? Tell your teacher first, because they manage the quiz and its attempts. If it is a problem with Progsity itself, open a ticket in Quizzes and exams with the quiz link and the time it happened.
